Wall Glazing

The art of wall glazing is a technique used to texture a transluscent, colored glaze with a tool and then removing any sign of the tool or hand that applied it.

It differs from faux painting, which is a painted imitation of something that occurs naturally. It is also different from other faux techniques such as sponging, ragging, smooshing or bagging where the tool mark is left undisguised on a surface.

Wall glazing utilizes transparent color washes and cleverly applied tonal values to achieve the total transformation of a wall. A simple wall glaze can give the appearance of perpetual sunshine in a room.
